Zombie Propaganda: Politics

The Military Industrial Complex
I decided to collect videos rather than rant about how the US military budget is out of control and corrupted by outside influence. Reading political pieces just seems so dry and boring to me, I loose interested in what I'm reading too quickly. Hopefully these videos will help inspire some of you to think differently or question more -Not that you already don't, hopefully.

Well these video clips are not opinion, unfortunately. It is obvious Dwight Eisenhower's warning has become reality, priorities have become set on what benefits corporations, not the country. What do you think?

If you are interested in the Military Industrial Complex and do not care much for reading about it, I recomend Why We Fight. Why We Fight is an award winning 2005 documentary focusing on corporations hold on American Policy. Some of the clips above are from the film.

Iraq For Sale is another fine title focusing on military spending in Iraq. Topics range from spending money for the reason of getting more money to outrageous laundry cost. The film crew interviews military servicemen, watchdog group affiliates, and former employees of Halliburton.

Zombie Gifts

Check out this What Would a Zombie do? Spin Folder.

This may be a good training tool to determine the common modus operandi of the Un-Dead. It might also make a fun drinking game. For example eve time a zombie moans you drink your beer or every time a zombie eats brains you take a shot - we don't know, just brainstorming. Regardless we think this would make a great zombie gift, because anything zombie themed is good, right?

Kids In the Hall: Brain Candy

From Wikipedia:

Brain Candy (aka Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy) is a feature film by The Kids in the Hall, a popular Canadian comedy troupe. Directed by Kelly Makin, filmed in Toronto, and released in 1996, it followed the five season run of their television series, which had been successful in both Canada and the United States. The five man team plays all of the major characters, and many of the bit parts. Brendan Fraser and Janeane Garofalo have small cameos, Garofalo's being almost entirely absent from the final cut. The film is about the introduction of a powerful antidepressant, entitled GLeeMONEX. The drug is rushed into production to help the ailing Roritor Pharmaceuticals and becomes an overnight media sensation. Those involved in the early stages of GLeeMONEX- the scientists, marketing arm and several early users - are followed, right up through the troubling coma-like side-effect of being stuck in their happiest memory.

If you haven't seen Brain Candy Yet, we strongly recomend it. It is extremely funny and is a must see for all Kids in The Hall Fans.

Death of a Web Site: TorrentSpy

After listening to about an hour of Pandora i decided to go torrent searching for some of that classic dub reggae that i love so much. So like i normally do, i went to a proxy site to access torrent spy since they blocked U.S. users some time ago. After typing the torrent spy address it brought me to torrent spy and to my surprise the site had been completely shut down. How unfortunate I thought, one of the most popular web site on the WWW shut down! Funny thing is that their are more torrent search sites than can be counted, so naturally I went searching on another big name torrent site.

From Wiki
TorrentSpy was a popular BitTorrent indexing Web Site. It tracked torrent files (which were hosted externally) and provided a forum to comment on them. It also integrated Digg-like user-driven content site ShoutWire's feed into its front page. In August 2007 there were more than 1,000,000 torrents indexed with thousands of new torrents indexed every day.[1]

The Motion Picture Association of America filed a lawsuit in February 2006 for TorrentSpy facilitating copyright infringement as many torrents on its site were copyrighted films. In December of 2007 the court ruled against TorrentSpy for "widespread and systematic efforts to destroy evidence and have provided false testimony under oath in an effort to hide evidence of such destruction."[2] On March 24, 2008 facing further fines for not cooperating with the court TorrentSpy shut itself down.[3]

Zombie Propaganda: Green Stuff

Well today is Earth Day and many people are trying to be as green as they can today. In the future people will even start waring green like they do on St Patty's to show there green spirit we bet. All of us here at Z.O. have no plans to live greener today than we do every other day. We all live in the dark here, the only light coming from our computer screens. We're all fairly environmentally conscious, and think earth day is kind of a load of BS. Earth day, like fathers, mothers day or even 4,20 are all a load of BS. Why should we raise our awareness one day a year?

The 4,20 example: Some of us here at Z.O. smoke down on the regular (we wont point fingers) and could care less about 4,20. why should we do what we do everyday more on one day than another? Mothers & Fathers Day, why should we show appreciation on those days more than others? Unless you forgot to do the things mentioned above all year, these sudo holidays aren't worth acknowledging.

Back to Earth Day, TV stations such as History and Discovery channel and others are running green week themed programing witch is great but they should be doing that all year really, mix it in with all the regular programming!

It is great that the environment has gained strength in politics and we hope it becomes the number one issue some day. Our advice for those that want to make a regular difference on your environmental footprint is to make a regular change in your lifestyle. If you need smokes or a six pack, ride your bike or skate over to the liquor store. Never, Never use plastic grocery bags and always ask for paper! Open the curtains during the day, turn of those lights and use CFL's. Drive when necessary and avoid rush hour commuting. There are a million ways to live greener, witch in turn will save you some $green$

Man Stuck in Elevator for 41 Hours

From SF Gate

A time-lapse video of a man trapped in an elevator for 41 hours has become something of an Internet sensation after surveillance camera footage emerged after nearly a decade.

"After a certain period of time I knew that I was in pretty big trouble because it was the weekend," Nicholas White said Monday on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America."

Video of his Oct. 15, 1999, ordeal in an elevator in New York's McGraw-Hill building was posted online to accompany an article in the April 21 edition of The New Yorker. It can be seen on the magazine's Web site and had been viewed more than 280,000 times on YouTube by Monday morning.

White said he understood why the video has captured people's attention: So many have wondered what they would do if it happened to them.

Edited to a soundtrack of classical piano music, the video shows him pacing, trying to climb the walls, lying down, curled up in a fetal position, prying apart the doors. (He said he relieved himself down the shaft when the doors were open.)

Here Is The Video

We cant think of a worse way to spend 41 hours. Why didn't he force the doors open and jump out or does that only happen in movies and on TV? Any way, we've decided to take the stairs.

Ferris Wheel For Sale on eBay

SANTA MONICA, Calif., (April 15, 2008) -LA TIMES

"One winning bidder will ride in style this summer when the historic Ferris wheel from Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier becomes their very own as the highest bidder on eBay. The 10-day auction runs from April 15 to April 25 and can be found by entering “Pacific Wheel Ferris Wheel” in the search box at ebay.com. The reserve is set at $50,000 with 50 percent of the winning bid being donated to Special Olympics Southern California.

Minimum bid: $50k. Local pick-up only. But wait -- here's the fine print:

Chance Morgan, Inc. in Wichita, Kan., is the manufacturer of both Ferris wheels and is offering the winning eBay bidder the Ferris wheel base that supports the wheel at cost of approximately $135,000.

Which basically means, you're buying the wheel but the wheel base is sold separately.

We're not sure what we or anyone could do with the wheel from a ferris wheel, but we are sure it would be cool. We doubt the recycled metal value is anywhere close to the starting bid, but hey it is a good cause.

That Crazy Song From Revenge Of The Nerds

Wikipedia has a killer synopsis of this film if your are interested(link)
I see this movie constantly on to many cable channels, I must tell you that the uncut version is is nearly a entirely different movie. Reminds me of Porky's in a way, you know... old school American Pie.
I am still trying to find who wrote this song, if you know please tell me by leaving a comment!

Chainsaw Man Chases Homeless in Florida

For months, five homeless men have complained to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department that they have been terrorized by a local businessman known to them only as "the Chainsaw Man.''

They say he chases them through fields and over railroad tracks, armed with a chainsaw, and has even shot at them with a pistol.

Urban Dead Update April 08'

Urban Dead, the greatest free Zombie mmorpg still! Last Month was crazy in Malton, especially around the Four Corners. The Big Bash 08' came through and destroyed the place. MDk and other groups fought the initial onslaught of the zombie hoard but could not compete with the enormous volume of zombies. After a week of utter destruction, signs of life appeared and the rebuilding fallowed. There are still good zombie numbers in the area, and resource buildings are still targeted.

Meanwhile in Monroeville, New updates have made the game very interesting. The boarders have been closed and no new players are allowed to be created in Monroeville, the UD expansion. The most recent update gave survivors that posses the Head Shot skill the ability to kill zombies dead. My player in Monroeville has already put several zombies out of their misery.

Pizza Beer

Something's brewing in a garage in St. Charles. Tom Seefurth is mixing up a concoction he'll eventually pour out as beer – pizza beer. "It's pizza and beer in a bottle," Seefurth, a self-proclaimed beer nut, says. There are actually real pieces of pizza stirred into the mix. The kettles and tubes of Seefurth's tiniest of breweries all come together beside the hundreds of beer cans in his collection. "This is a reflection of my entire life history," he says. Too many garden tomatoes cooked up the idea for pizza beer last year. Seeforth and his wife create a tomato garlic puree and bake up the pizza -- in the back yard they pick their own oregano for flavoring. And back in the brewery Seefurth even grinds his own wheat to get the process started. He'll add other spices, but keeps the recipe a secret. "The only people who know the recipe are me and my cat, Jethro," he says.
LINK
Why didn't we or someone else think of this sooner. Pizza Beer, it's like two birds with one stone! I think we may have to track down that Jethro and beat the recipe out of him, or maybe bribe him with a can of tuna.
