Handbrake Upgrade: All Formats Welcome

HandBrake has released a major upgrade that adds support for just about any video source format, not just DVDs. None of us here have tried it out yet, but you can bet your ass we'll will be checking this out.

If you haven't noticed yet, youtube is now pushing thier wide screen format player. It is said to have a higher resolution, witch will help show how many shity videos are made with cell phones and web cams.

As his owner was signing up for an open mic showcase, a limelight-loving mutt climbed behind the wheel of a van and rolled it through the front window of a St. James coffee shop last night, police and the dog owner said. Link

Big Rock man behind bars charged with torching bathrooms.

Acting on an anonymous tip, police questioned Meehan about the fires after he was arrested Friday on an unrelated criminal trespass charge. Meehan admitted to starting the fires, but did not explain what he has against bathrooms, Cary Police Det. Susan Ellis said. Link

Denton jailer told inmate he'd go free if he voted for McCain.

Mr. Ntel was arrested on an outstanding warrant from McKinney for driving without insurance, said Denton police Capt. Lenn Carter. Mr. Ntel said he was taken to the Denton City Jail, where a jail employee — who was later identified by closed-circuit video as Chris Saunier — dangled a key in front of Mr. Ntel’s face. “He told me, ‘if you vote for McCain, I’ll let you out right now,’” Mr. Ntel said. “The officer was laughing, but I didn’t think it was funny. So Basically,

when you Google your name, his/her name shows up but of course that other person’s profile is totally different from yours!

This leads to frustration in a lot of cases because it shows that you have no credit against you and that Google lacks complete info about you whereas the other person has achieved so much that there are research papers he/she has worked upon, conferences they have attended etc. It basically results in you realizing what a dead beat you are.

75% Less Spam!!!

A San Jose business reported to be responsible for more than 75 percent of the world’s spam email has been cut off from the Internet and its web site shut down.

According to a report at the Washington Post, McColo Corp. was a web hosting business with customers made up of “some of the most disreputable cyber-criminal gangs in business today.”

The company’s web site, mccolo.com, was not working on Wednesday.

The Post reported in a blog that Global Crossing in Bermuda and Hurricane Electric in Fremont, two of McColo’s main Internet providers, pulled the plug after getting reports from Security Fix about its activities, some of which were annoying and others outright illegal.

Security Fix studied the company for four months before making the report.

Killer Coffin

Police say a woman has died on the way to a cemetery when a traffic accident hurled her husband's coffin against the back of her neck. Police said 67-year old Marciana Silva Barcelos was in the front passenger seat of the hearse when the accident occurred Monday in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Barcelos died instantly.

Her 76-year-old husband Josi Silveira Coimbra died Sunday of a heart attack while dancing at a party.

The driver of hearse and Barcelos' son suffered minor injuries.

Sore Old Loser

This is a picture of John McCain. He lost the U.S. presidential election today. His loss is attributed to poor decisions in his campaign; Sarah Palin, "the fundamentals of the economy are strong", "Joe" the "Plumber", and his out of touch sense of reality. Seriously, I and everyone here knows exactly how many homes or cars we own. McCain ran a reckless campaign, much like his navy career that ultimately lead to his capture. Fortunetly for McCain, he can finally get started on securing a fat book deal. We figure he'll put out at least one book covering his presidential bid. To bad few will actually read it, print is dead.
